Natalia Brown - MD
Dr. Brown graduated from St. Petersburg State Medical College, Russia in 2003. She worked at St. Petersburg as an Assistant Professor, and taught medical students which included: parasitic infections, gastrointestinal infections, and nutritional and metabolic diseases. She conducted various research studies related to metabolism and the treatment of obesity. Prior to coming to the United States, she was a Physician of Biostatistician at St. Petersburg. Dr. Brown conducted research on hospitalized patients with complications associated with morbid obesity. Her hobbies and interests include reading, history, arts, fitness, and exercising. She is fluent in Russian in addition to English.

Joy Froelich - MD
Dr. Froelich graduated from UND School of Medicine & Health Sciences in 2008. Prior to attending medical school, Dr. Froelich was a registered nurse and worked as a Dialysis nurse at Medcenter One Health Systems as well as worked with Indian Health Services out of Fort Yates and a school nurse with Standing Rock Community School. Outside of medicine, Dr. Froelich enjoys horseback riding, basketball, dance, tae kwon do, watching movies, working out, and spending time with her family.

Malathi Kolipaka - MD
Malathi completed her medical education at Sri Siddhartha Medical College, India. She currently resides in Bismarck, ND with her husband, Shanthan Pendem, MD, who is an Intensivist (a physician trained specifically in the care of critically ill patients) that works primarily in the St. Alexius Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Over the past year, Dr. Kolipaka has worked as a Clinical Attaché under the supervision of UND Center for Family Medicine faculty, participating actively along with interns and residents in daily clinical activities including morning report, rounding on the medical and surgical floors, and attending clinics. Dr. Kolipaka also completed a Clinical Observership at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Staten Island, NY. Malathi’s volunteer experiences in New York include working in a Cytogenetics laboratory. Her research experience includes working on a project entitled “Effect of oxygen on breath markers of oxidative stress”, in which she assisted in interviewing the study participants and compiling data. In addition to English, Dr. Kolipaka is fluent in Telugu and Hindi. She enjoys traveling, cooking, and yoga

Jessica Miller - MD
Dr. Miller will graduate from UND School of Medicine & Health Sciences in 2008. Prior to attending UND, Dr. Miller studied biology at Concordia College, Moorhead, Minnesota. Dr. Miller has a strong interest in basketball, both playing at the collegiate level as well as coaching youth teams.

Mary Nybakken - MD
Dr. Nybakken graduated from UND School of Medicine & Health Sciences in 2008 where she received the Ray Duggan Memorial Endowment Scholarship, Kevin Monk Service Award, and the Karen and Elvira Lynner Medical Scholarship. Dr. Nybakken's undergraduate degree is from Concordia College, Moorhead, Minnesota. She was involved in the Concordia Honors Biology Research Program as well as conducting research through the UND Department of Epidemiology investigating current screenings for prostate cancer. Dr. Nybakken's professional experience includes that of women's health, diabetes mellitus, genetics, endocrinology, and "fascinomas"--internal medicine cases. Outside of medicine, Dr. Nybakken enjoys music and musical theater, restoring old homes, volleyball, watching sports, and camping with family.

Megan Strand - MD
Dr. Strand graduated from UND School of Medicine & Health Sciences in 2008 where she was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, recipient of the North Dakota Board of Higher Education Tuition Wavier, recipient of the 2005-2006 Peer Teaching Award as well as awarded the R. Duggan Scholarship and the Dr. Zahradka Memorial Scholarship. Dr. Strand was involved in a research project through UND dealing with prevention of fractures in the elderly. Aside of her professional career, Dr. Strand enjoys camping, canoeing, jogging, fishing, golfing, gardening, and skydiving.

Stephanie Traxinger - DO
Dr. Traxinger graduated from the Des Moines University Osteopathic Medical Center, Des Moines, Iowa in 2008. Prior to entering Des Moines University, Dr. Traxinger studied chemistry and forensic science at the University of North Dakota. Dr. Traxinger's interests include that of golf, riding bike, hiking, scrap booking, and spending time with family.
